It may be awkward for X-23 and Jamie, transitioning from Milliways to Eureka. SARAH herself does not notice much of anything when she moves back and forth, but she advised her two guests to sit down on the living room couch before they left the bar.
"Exterior sensors have resumed function," SARAH announces. "Welcome to Eureka."

Date: 2008-02-19 01:32 am (UTC)Sheriff Carter threatened his daughter today with forcing Vincent to not sell her espresso; Zoe wants to claim as much as she can before he actually carries that threat out.
Even if she is supposed to be at school at the moment.

Date: 2008-02-19 01:34 am (UTC)She is someone they are supposed to avoid.
But ducking away will only attract her attention.
Which may explain why, at this exact moment, X does nothing out of the ordinary.

Date: 2008-02-19 01:37 am (UTC)If an eyebrow goes briefly up, it's probably just because he's well aware that people his own age are meant to be in school right now.

Date: 2008-02-19 01:39 am (UTC)Crap.
"Can I help you with something?" Zoe starts, coming to a dead stop about ten paces in front of the pair.
Eyes narrowing, "I haven't met you yet."
Equal parts exasperated 'New nerds' and a glimmer of hope.

Date: 2008-02-19 01:41 am (UTC)"We're new. Mom's looking to move into Eureka Gardens."
Beat.
"Hi."
no subject
Date: 2008-02-19 01:44 am (UTC)Hair that needs highlights pronto.
She may be new, but she's definitely a nerd's kid. "Hi."
Now looking at Jamie inquisitively.
no subject
Date: 2008-02-19 01:50 am (UTC)"So do you not have to go to school here?"
Heavily implied by the grin: 'maybe this move isn't going to be terrible after all.'

Date: 2008-02-19 01:53 am (UTC)The former being said with an appropriately put-upon frown, but the attitude is shrugged off. "Hence the coffee run. Are you two...headed somewhere?" Continually suspicious.

Date: 2008-02-19 01:54 am (UTC)X's voice is entirely innocent.
Beat.
"Jamie's a brat and Mom couldn't take it anymore. She made us leave."
no subject
Date: 2008-02-19 02:03 am (UTC)To Zoe: "It was so boring there with Mom and the recruiters I was actually going to fall asleep if we stayed there any longer. She's just pissed because Mom made her come with me instead of sitting around with all the scientists talking about whatever swots talk about when they're alone."
no subject
Date: 2008-02-19 02:08 am (UTC)Probably some scientists brewing some shit in a flask or something.
Gross.
"Whatever. I'm for coffee." And that same head of blonde hair goes flouncing off toward a steaming cup of Vinspresso.

Date: 2008-02-19 02:11 am (UTC)"Okay."
Beat.
"She is like Megan."
And then she keeps walking.

Date: 2008-02-19 02:13 am (UTC)It does offer a nice visual perspective, however, if one cares to be observant.
Right now, however, no one does.
It's just a building, after all. All of the residents should, at least in theory, be at work.

Date: 2008-02-19 02:15 am (UTC)Jamie nudges his companion in the ribs, and says lightly, "Wouldn't be too bad to live there, would it? Right in the center of things, instead of all the way out in the Gardens?"
no subject
Date: 2008-02-19 02:17 am (UTC)"I like the quiet."
no subject
Date: 2008-02-19 02:18 am (UTC)"You don't suppose we could just walk in, do you? Take a look at it, just to see?"
no subject
Date: 2008-02-19 02:21 am (UTC)"Mom might be there, too. Maybe you can get her to leave faster."

Date: 2008-02-19 02:24 am (UTC)X's voice is a little sharp.
"If you're going to whine about it."
Beat.
"Come on."
She moves fast for a teenager. Really fast.
no subject
Date: 2008-02-19 02:25 am (UTC)Youthful high spirits, probably.
"Laura, wait up!"
no subject
Date: 2008-02-19 02:27 am (UTC)"I hate you sometimes, you know that?"
Ill grace is the mark of a teenager.

look back.
For all its brick and attempts at comfort level on the outside, this is not SARAH.
no subject
Date: 2008-02-19 02:39 am (UTC)Which may be why she doesn't so much as twitch before she grabs Jamie's wrist and tugs him toward the front door.
"Come on. I want to be quick, this is getting boring."
